Celebrating Lew(ish)am: Discover Blackheath!

26th January 2023

Blackheath has come onto our Lee Greens map more recently, but did you know that we actually started our packing journey on the border of Blackheath (and still have a pick-up there to this day)? This beautiful village-feel location to the North-East of Lewisham is certainly one not to be missed! Just the other side (top) of Greenwich Park, Blackheath's vast, calm green heath takes you away from the busy city down the hill, whilst maintaining an intimate community atmosphere.
If you have the time, we recommend having a good browse around the village - full of independent cafes, charity shops, book stores... There's something for everyone!

Kingswood Halls

Kingwood Halls were the start of our Lee Greens packing journey, before we more recently set up camp in Leegate. In fact, we still use this area as a pick up point and are very grateful for their ongoing support of Lee Greens and our community efforts!
These parish halls are connected to St Margaret's Church. The halls are available for hire, but also host regular groups including Morris Dancers, uniformed groups, playgroups, badminton and judo.

The gated area is also home to The Village Montessori Day Nursery and is a joyful atmosphere to pass by.

Worker's League

Worker's League is one of our most recent pick-ups and is located in the heart of Blackheath village, right opposite All Saints Church. Just tucked away behind the main road, this co-working space has a modern, clean aesthetic and lends itself to peaceful working practice, with a lovely communal feel. You can even just pop in to eat, drink and relax!
The working spaces have optional pay-as-you-go plans and private meeting spaces for hire.
If you happen to be stopping by to pick up your veg bag, how about sticking around for a little work and coffee session!
